Job Description
Summary/objective
Responsible for teaching individual private and group lessons for all ages and skill levels, as well as assisting with; weekly adult and junior clinics, light court maintenance, and racquet stringing/pro shop hours.
Essential functions

- Assist with the supervision of all tennis play
- Provide competent tennis instruction for all groups and levels of players
- Assist with coaching of our junior program comprised of 150 junior players of all ages and ability levels
- Conduct private and group lessons
- Help coordinate junior match play opportunities and social events
- Co-Captain both Spring and Fall USTA Junior Team Tennis (JTT) teams
- Assist with pro shop sales and court bookings
- String racquets and provide knowledgeable recommendations to members about their string and equipment
- Assist the Director with all club events, tournaments and USTA matches
- Deliver outstanding service to our members, guests, and fellow team members with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor
- Promote the safety and security of all participants at all times
- Maintain a notable visual presence during work shifts
- Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding customer service to all members
Requirements
Physical demands
- Must be able to fully participate in all tennis activities (programs and/or lessons)
- Must be able to work in warm and humid outdoor conditions
- Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
- Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Required competencies, education, and experience
- Full time; position is year round
- USPTA or PTR Certifications preferred
- Prior experience instructing tennis lessons required
- Prior experience with junior tennis programs and/or summer camp programs highly desired
- Must have genuine interest in working with and interacting with children and adults of all skill level
- Must be at least 18 years old
