ACAC Dolphins, a competitive summer swim team in the Jefferson Swim League (JSL), is seeking energetic and enthusiastic Assistant Coaches for the upcoming summer season. Our team focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and fostering a love for swimming in a fun and supportive environment.
Qualified candidates should have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and experience working with young swimmers. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to provide instruction, lead practices, and help swimmers of all levels improve their skills while preparing for JSL summer meets.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with coaching swim practices for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
- Help develop a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that encourages learning and sportsmanship.
- Provide feedback and technique instruction to swimmers in a fun and engaging way.
- Support meet preparation, including organizing relays, assisting with swimmer check-ins, and motivating athletes.
- Attend all team meets, which take place on Wednesday nights throughout June and July.
- Assist at the JSL Championship Meet at the end of July.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, swimmers, and parents throughout the season.
- Ensure compliance with JSL rules and regulations
Practice Schedule:
- Mid-May to end of the school year: Afternoon practices.
- Once school is out (June–July): Morning practices with a smaller afternoon/evening practice option.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in competitive swimming or coaching preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable working with young swimmers (ages 5-18) in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- CPR/First Aid certification

- Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep the club neat and clean.
- Assist with Service Days.
- Assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department
- Promptly return messages.
- Exhibit a positive attitude at all times.
- Deliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all times.
