Summary/objective
Responsible for leading and supervising preschool, elementary, and middle school children who participate in the tennis camp program. Must be able to commit to the summer camp season (June - August).
Requirements
Essential functions

- Provide competent tennis instruction for all groups and levels of players
- Supervise and interact with children to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activities
- Supervise and interact with children during classroom time, outdoor play, and transportation time
- Follow state licensing standards for child care
- Communicate with children using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamwork
- Assist with junior development of competitive players and 10 and under tennis
- Assist the Director with all club events, tournaments and USTA matches
- Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding customer service
- Promote the safety and security of all participants at all times
- Maintain a notable visual presence during work shifts
- Communicate program policies and expectations members and/or guests to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times
- Promote the safety and security of all children at all times
- Communicate program policies and expectations to students and/or parents to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times
- Supervise children by maintaining appropriate student-to-counselor ratios
Physical demands
- Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
- Must be able to physically respond in a quick manner in the event of an emergency
- Must be able to fully participate in all indoor and outdoor activities
- Must be able to work professionally and calmly in an environment which may have heightened noise and stress
- Must be able to work in warm, humid, rainy or windy outdoor conditions
- Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Required competencies, education, and experience
- Must be able to commit to work the summer camp season (June - August)
- Prior working experience and knowledge of state licensing standards highly desired
- Prior experience with youth programming and/or summer camp programs highly desired
- Must be at least 16 years of age
