Summary
This position is under the supervision of the Human Resources Director and is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day Human Resources operations and recruiting operations.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for operational and technical personnel duties to include: employment application intake, on boarding of new and rehire personnel, computer entry and file maintenance.
- Assist employees and public with personnel information and interpretation of Personnel policies and procedures. Assist with new employee orientation.
- Responsible for maintenance of confidential personnel files, personnel actions, preparing recruitment lists and job postings.
- Maintain computer employee data information.
- Answer telephones.
- Assist Manager with employee/personnel projects and training.
- Establishes various reports and documents to provide current personnel information.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Generates reports for the affirmative action program; files EEO-1and Vets-100A report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations, writes and places advertisements.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
- An associate's degree/bachelor's degree and one (1 or more) years of Human Resources or administrative experience
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, human resources regulations effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Microsoft word, and Access
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports required
Travel: This position rarely requires any traveling but possibly would to other offices at certain times of the year. Only in Virginia and no overnight.
Preferred:
- Prior military experience is a plus but not required General knowledge of common Human Resources Software
