Summary / Objective :
The HVAC Installation Mechanic will perform skilled work in the installation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
Essential Functions :
Installs commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems including power wiring from load side of disconnect, control wiring, minor gas and condensate piping, refrigerant piping if needed, refrigerant recovery, duct and insulation, evacuation, charging, and test proceduresSketches transitions and other duct fittings required to complete assigned workRequisitions material and supplies from stockroom and vendorsPerforms brazing, soldering, pipefitting, and minor fabricationEstablishes plan to complete jobs on time and to meet / beat budget estimatesCoordinates activities of assigned craft workersInterprets specifications, blueprints, drawings, and job ordersWelds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, and bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipmentInstalls systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings or work-sitesWorks within precise limits and standards of accuracy;Responsibility for high degree of attention required to prevent damage or wasteWorks closely with external and / or internal contacts to carry out responsibilitiesMaintains and cares for all Company assets including but not limited to tools, trucks, equipment, etc.Completes all necessary forms and paperwork as directedPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility : No
Required :
2 years of progressive HVAC operational experience in building systems, products and services (HVAC industry) or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceExcellent initiative, interpersonal communications skills, and sense of urgencySpecialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex problemsMust possess or obtain personal hand toolsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following :
