Computer Technician
TITLE: Senior Technician
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Works well independently and collaboratively. Self motivated.
- A minimum of 2 years of computer operations and experience.
- Experience in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of district devices.
- Experience with major software programs and the ability to help others with their proper use.
- A diverse background with computer hardware systems and software programs preferred.
- Familiarity with Student Information System or similar data management or database systems.
- Must be able to climb a ladder, lift 50 lbs, and possess a New Jersey Driver’s license.
- Comptia A Certificate preferred.
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
JOB GOAL: To provide technical assistance, training, and repair of technology hardware and software in the district to maintain the operational status of data processing equipment and to assist in other matters pertaining to the smooth operation of the district’s technology resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run and terminate network and audio/video cabling at the direction of the Facilities Manager and Director of Technology through campus facilities.
- Install/replace classroom technologies such as networking racks, computer hardware, smart boards, smart television, and other devices. This includes securely wall mounting devices where applicable and properly routing all low voltage cabling at the direction of the Facilities Manager and Director of Technology.
- Assist with installation and termination of security infrastructure including electrified locks, security cameras, and other devices.
- Assist with the research and purchase of equipment and services. This may include contacting vendors and researching the best pricing available as well as working with stakeholders to determine needs.
- Assist with the coordination of productions with internal/external event representatives in order to prepare for facilities requirements; Inspect and perform equipment and system maintenance and refurbishing as needed.
- Provide direct support to stakeholders for all district services on district IT equipment.
- Assist with the support of all districts data data systems for all relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with the maintenance and update of the school intra and internet sites.
- Assist with the research and purchase of equipment and services. This may include contacting vendors and researching the best pricing available as well as working with stakeholders to determine needs.
- Assist in the budget creation by retrieving quotes, organizing staff requests, etc.
- Assist in the creation of the technology plan.
- Assist with the data uploads / extracts as requested by district staff from district data systems.
- Assist the repair technicians in the completion of work orders and projects when necessary.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve month position.
- Work year to be established by the Board of Education
- Salary Range is approximately $40,000 depending upon previous experience
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Technology in accordance with established Board of Education policies.
