Overview:

As part of our commitment to patient-centered care, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Clinical Information Specialist (CIS). In this role, you will play a pivotal part in facilitating positive health outcomes by ensuring accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, which will involve transcribing clinical information from patient visits.
Scribes fulfill clerical duties and do not provide direct patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Detailed Documentation of Patient Encounters (70%):
- Transcribe clinical information accurately and comprehensively.
- Capture essential details to support optimal patient care, including assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Collaborate with providers to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to best practices.
2. Clinical Documentation Improvement (10%):
- Review transcribed documentation to identify opportunities for enhancement and improvement.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and educational programs to enhance documentation skills.
- Collaborate with providers and the care team to address documentation gaps and enhance quality of care.
3. Administrative Support and Collaboration (20%):
- Provide administrative support to providers by assisting with other tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the care team to streamline workflows and improve efficiency in clinical documentation processes.
- Maintain compliance with clinic and company policies, including HIPAA regulations, to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one year in the healthcare field required.
- Experience in direct patient care environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures strongly preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
- Prior clinical experience, including shadowing or volunteering, strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in charting, scribing or transcription preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and willingness to learn new technical workflows.
- Adaptability to new processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in both the written and spoken English language.
- Bilingual is a plus.
