What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Teller position at Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union?
Summary:
This position directly assists our member/owners with financial services, actively identifies referral opportunities, and supports the Member Services Department in its operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist member/owners with inquiries, transactions, and problem resolution to include but not limited to the following: deposits, withdrawals, transfer of funds, Shared Branching transactions, savings bonds, loan payments, and safe deposit box access
- Engaging members in conversation to uncover their financial needs.
- Provide exceptional member experiences during all member and shared branch interactions.
- Accurately and efficiently process transactions while maintaining a balanced teller drawer.
- Carry out daily tasks with professionalism and confidentiality with regard to member accounts
- Identify and refer opportunities for members to deepen relationships through additional Credit Union services
- Carry out policies and procedures within assigned area of responsibility
- Take the initiative to pro-actively do what needs to be done in the teller area, in coordination with the other Tellers as part of a team
- Coordinate the manner of member services (i.e. phone, window, drive-up) with other Tellers as part of a team
- Participate in settling ATMs
- Comply with credit union policies for all employees, including the fraud policy and computer usage policy
- Attend credit union training as required
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies/Qualifications:
- Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform basic mathematical calculations with accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with a 10 key calculator is preferred
- Ability to navigate computer screens to effectively process transactions.
- Familiarity with the use of a computer and the ability to learn and use vendor software, external websites, and company’s core processing system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to exercise judgment, logic, and initiative with integrity
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Communicate and interact with members and co-workers in a professional, engaging, courteous and confidential manner
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and some work experience to include handling money
- Minimum of one-year customer service experience
- Experience in a financial institution is preferred
Physical Demands:
- Sit for long periods of time and sometimes stand
- Reach and stoop
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Pay: $17.00 per hour
