Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. This individual will be a critical part of their finance infrastructure, managing the accounting functions for both the fund and management company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fund Accounting: Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
- Management Company Accounting: Manage the financials of the management company, including expense tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
- Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flow across various entities to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Valuations: Coordinate and assist with quarterly and annual portfolio valuations in accordance with applicable standards.
- Process Improvements: Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting and operational processes.
- Forecasting & Analytics: Develop financial forecasts and provide analytical support for strategic decision-making.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within private equity, venture capital, or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
