Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Hedge Fund Deputy GC to join the legal team. The team is responsible for all legal and compliance matters for the Firm. The successful candidate will be part of the global team responsible for overseeing the policies, procedures and testing of our client’s legal program. Successful candidates can expect to grow quickly and advance in responsibility and title.
Responsibilities
- Legal experience with a strong working knowledge of securities laws and regulations applicable to registered investment advisers
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills – ability to interact diplomatically and understand importance of business sensitivities and confidentiality.
- Experience in a senior role involved in firm management is a plus
- Direct investment management experience– specifically formation and maintenance of private funds across strategies – ranging from single-asset, independent-sponsor type deals to traditional comingled fund products.
- Organize and manage complex entity structures, ensure compliance with fund governing documents.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- At least 10 years experience at multi-strategy hedge fund
- In-depth knowledge of requirements applicable to SEC registered investment advisers
- Significant experience in drafting policies, procedures, and memorandums. The ability to draft independently is critical
- Willingness to be very hands-on and pro-actively offer solutions; comfortable with technology and data
- Team player and self starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment; ability to be calm under pressure
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
