Role: Senior Valuation Professional/Manager
Location: New York, NY - 4 days in office
The Valuation Manager will be expected to:
- Take a leadership role in the Valuation Oversight Group, as well as work with portfolio managers, accounting teams and senior management.
- Interface with Ellington’s Auditors and provide support documenting the implementation of Ellington’s valuation policies and procedures.
- Develop and enhance policies, processes, models and systems to improve the valuation process.
- Utilize proprietary and vendor-based models to derive fair value pricing for securitized products, whole loans, corporate loans, private investments, and derivatives.
- Conduct price testing of the valuation of portfolio holdings with reference to wider market activity and trade events, with a focus on validating internal valuations and assumptions across multiple asset classes.
- Interact with Controllers, Middle Office, Traders, Risk and Senior Management regarding the policies and valuation of portfolio assets to resolve internal and external inquiries.
- Conduct ASC 820 leveling analysis on portfolio holdings.
- Maintain required documentation including data received from external sources.
- Assist with various ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications:
- 5 -10 years of relevant experience in credit/hedge fund valuation, investment banking, financial consulting, or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of credit - CLO, ABS, SRT and other structured product structures and documents;
- Extensive experience modeling CLO transactions in Excel
