Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Maintenance Supervisor for our client in North Bergen, NJ. This on-site role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience in building systems, facilities operations, and team leadership. You’ll oversee daily maintenance tasks, manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and safety inspection standards, and support project coordination to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-operated property environment.
Responsibilities as the Construction Maintenance Supervisor:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train maintenance staff, manage schedules, and support performance development.
- Maintenance Operations: Oversee work orders, unit inspections, and timely turnover to maintain property standards.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors while reviewing contracts and ensuring quality work.
- Facilities & Safety: Conduct property inspections, respond to maintenance emergencies, and uphold OSHA/EPA compliance.
- Inventory & Budgeting: Track supplies, maintain inventory, and monitor expenses to stay within budget.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative programs and perform routine maintenance to ensure system efficiency.
Qualifications for the Construction Maintenance Supervisor:
- Education: Associate degree or Trade School certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: HVAC certification strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in maintenance, construction, or project management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and life safety systems, with experience in preventative maintenance and maintenance software.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA, ADA, EPA, and Fair Housing standards as they relate to facilities management.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly organized with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
