Job Overview – Senior Tax Compliance Specialist (Hybrid):
Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year base ($200,000 – $275,000 All-In)
Location: Greenwich, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group has an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Tax Compliance Specialist with our client in Greenwich, CT (Hybrid). This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional with deep expertise in hedge fund and private equity tax compliance. You’ll oversee complex fund allocations, manage federal, state, and international filings, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize tax workflows and ensure regulatory accuracy.
Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Compliance Specialist:
- Fund Tax Allocations: Review complex tax allocations for hedge and private equity funds, including waterfalls, 704(b)/(c), K-1s, and UBTI.
- Tax Compliance & Returns: Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and international tax filings, including PTET and composite returns.
- Investor Tax Reporting: Review investor estimates, projections, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- SPV & Global Filings: Manage tax compliance for domestic and foreign entities, including FBAR, CbCR, FATCA, and CRS filings.
- Tax Notices & Records: Respond to federal/state notices and maintain documentation of payments, reconciliations, and refunds.
- Process & Risk Management: Enhance tax workflows, support quality control, and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Compliance Specialist:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: 8 years of hedge fund or private equity tax experience, gained through public accounting, private or corporate accounting, or a dedicated fund tax environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using tax and accounting systems to streamline workflows and improve reporting efficiency.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a proactive mindset focused on improving accuracy and collaboration.
