Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, with a proven ability to analyze accounts and prepare comprehensive financial statements. This role will be responsible for performing various accounting functions, and is ideal for an individual with 3-5 years of experience looking to become part of a successful family owned and operated company.

Duties

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing activities.
• Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
• Process Accounts Payable utilizing integration/import tools and leverage technology for process enhancements.
• Prepare, manage, and reconcile financial intercompany transactions.
• Prepare daily sales and cash reports for senior management team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Utilize financial software to streamline accounting processes and improve accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years experience in corporate accounting, with a strong understanding of accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounting, month end accounting and close processes.
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, filters, text to columns, concatenating, etc).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills to effectively work with and present financial information to senior management.
