Job Overview – Tax Manager (Real Estate):

Take on a leadership role as a Tax Manager (Real Estate) with our client in Boston, MA. Reporting to the Head of Fund Tax, this in-office role manages tax compliance, structuring, and reporting for real estate investments, including REITs. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external advisors to implement tax strategies, maintain regulatory compliance, and support investor communications.

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000/year bonus

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Tax Manager (Real Estate):

• Tax Compliance: Coordinate fund tax return filings and K-1 reporting with external advisors.
• Return & Allocation Review: Support and review tax workpapers, allocations, and estimates.
• Tax Strategy: Manage quarterly projections, withholding, estimated payments, and year-end reporting.
• REIT Administration: Oversee taxable fund entities, ensuring compliance with REIT income and asset testing.
• Investor Communication: Address tax-related investor inquiries in partnership with investor relations.
• Audit & Risk Management: Handle tax notices, audits, and risk mitigation with external advisors.
  
  

Qualifications for the Tax Manager (Real Estate):

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or real estate private equity tax.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational and documentation abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to articulate tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
• Leadership & Initiative: Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving, project management, and team collaboration.
