An NYC-based hedge fund with a structured finance and mortgage-related strategy is seeking a Vice President to join its operations team. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including the following:
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive three-way reconciliations of cash balances and positions across internal systems, prime brokers, and fund administrators.
- Manage trade processing for derivatives and a variety of fixed-income instruments, such as asset-backed securities (ABS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), corporate bonds, residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), bank loans, and whole loans.
- Partner with the operations team to oversee risk reporting, including monitoring counterparty exposures, managing position and sector limits, calculating leverage, handling collateral management, and determining cash reserve requirements.
- Create detailed analyses and reports for senior management.
- Support the team in monthly valuation processes and related activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with a strong academic background.
- Approximately five years of relevant experience, preferably in a hedge fund environment focusing on fixed income and middle-office operations.
- Exceptional skills in accounting, analysis, and problem-solving.
