Assessment skills include competent knowledge from Pediatric to Geriatric stages and deliver patient care appropriately.
Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
Demonstrates competent clinical skills and performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
Consistently responds professionally to promote an environment centered on patient and family.
Follows the National Patient Safety Goals, including following Universal Protocol and identifying patient's utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions / diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia.
Contributes to the perioperative team by prioritizing the care of patients based on their needs and any changes in condition.
Actively includes the patient and family members in teaching and assesses patient's understanding of surgical procedures / instructions.
Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner and evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
