Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including nursing homes and facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, infection control, and the ability to administer medications and injections safely. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide catheter care and manage patients with dementia, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately to their needs.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, medication administration, and infection control practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a nursing home or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a plus.
  • Experience administering injections and performing medication administration is essential.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required to communicate effectively within the healthcare team.
  • Understanding of infection control practices and protocols is necessary for patient safety.
  • Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

Pay: $125,222.00 - $134,119.00 per year
