Our practice is on the second floor of Atlantic Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Portsmouth, NH.
Position Summary
As a Physical Therapy Aide at our clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting licensed clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with therapeutic modalities, supervising exercises, and performing various tasks to facilitate effective treatment. Working under the guidance of the NH Physical Therapist Practice Act and Medicare regulations, you will collaborate with clinical staff, physicians, and insurance providers to contribute to a positive patient experience and optimal outcomes. This role requires a proactive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to compassionate care.

Education, vocational training, and experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent with a background in exercise preferred
· Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills
· Ability to be on-site in Portsmouth, NH is required for this position

Job Responsibilities
The Physical Therapy Aide tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapy staff by supervising exercises and applying appropriate modalities, such as moist heat and cold packs.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care through direct communication with the supervising therapist.
- Conduct biannual inventory and coordinate clinical supply orders with OT and PT staff.
- Provide schedule flexibility to accommodate patient needs.
- Occasionally assist with front desk duties.
- Ensure daily facility upkeep by cleaning equipment, treatment tables, and maintaining fresh linens.
- Participate in annual bloodborne pathogen training and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Follow APTA guidelines to deliver high-quality care.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality and refrain from sharing proprietary information about the practice or referral sources.
- Adhere to state practice act regulations and Medicare requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Machines/Equipment Used:
- Utilize computers for documentation, word processing, and inventory management using Excel.
- Operate gym equipment for cardiovascular training, strengthening, and balance-based activities.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Represent the clinic positively through professional demeanor, dress, and communication with all stakeholders in patient care.
- Support internal and external marketing initiatives for the promotion of SMAO and ProCare PT and Hand Center, LLC as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Sitting: Approximately 1 hour daily, up to 30 minutes at a time.
- Standing: Approximately 6 hours daily, up to 30 minutes at a time.
- Walking: Approximately 1 hour daily, up to 1 hour at a time.
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
- Carrying: Up to 25 lbs for a distance of 20 feet.
- Keying/Computer Usage: Approximately 3 hours daily.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
