Summary:
Atlantic Park Surf is seeking an experienced Guest Services and Events Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of front-of-house operations including guest services, ticketing, and special events at our premier surf destination. This role is crucial in driving revenue growth and enhancing guest experience through exceptional guest service, event management, and group sales. Events may include corporate events, retreats, group gatherings, surf competitions, private parties, partnership activations, and special promotions. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities and sales acumen, and has a proven track record in hospitality, event management, and sales within the surf, hospitality, sports management, or tourism industries. The Guest Services and Events Manager must be a dynamic, outgoing individual capable of cultivating relationships with staff and clients. The chosen candidate will collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Guest Services and Ticketing
- Oversee daily guest service operations, ensuring a high standard of hospitality and efficiency.
- Manage ticketing operations, including sales, processing, and troubleshooting issues.
- Train and lead guest service staff to provide exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns promptly.
- Implement and monitor guest feedback systems to continually improve service quality.
-Event Planning, Coordination, & Delivery:
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee the execution of all events, ensuring they meet Atlantic Park Surf’s quality standards.
- Work closely with clients to understand their vision and objectives, customizing event experiences to exceed expectations.
- Liaise with internal departments (marketing, operations, guest services, and food & beverage) to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and compliance requirements are met for each event.
-Group Sales:
- Identify, develop, and close new event sales opportunities, maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, event planners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to drive group bookings.
- Create and present proposals tailored to clients’ needs, outlining pricing, event logistics, and package options.
- Work with the marketing team to promote group sales offerings and special promotions.
-Client Communication & Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients, ensuring exceptional service from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Gather post-event feedback to assess event success and implement improvements for future events.
- Maintain a client database and track event performance to refine offerings and experiences.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business, Sports Management, or a related field preferred –or a combination of experience and education that provides sufficient expertise in event management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality, event management, sports tourism, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of guest service, sales, and event management best practices.
- Experience in contract management and negotiation best practices.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and event management software.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, clients, and vendors.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs.

- Environment: Typically works in an indoor environment with extended periods of standing. Staff may also work in outdoor environments and be exposed to a variety of conditions include extreme heat, cold, wind, and rain Must be able to work in a variety of settings

- Sit, walk, and stand continuously. Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level
