Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Technician to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team. The QA Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance of our RTE crab processing facility with BRCGS standards, as well as maintaining product quality, safety, and consistency throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and audits of production processes, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with BRCGS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality control checks at various stages of the production process, including receiving, processing, packaging, and shipping, to ensure product integrity and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, facilities, and equipment to identify and address any quality or food safety concerns.
- Collect samples for testing and analysis, including microbiological, chemical, and sensory evaluations, and interpret results to identify any deviations from quality standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of QA procedures, work instructions, and documentation to ensure consistency and traceability of product quality and safety.
- Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to address any quality issues or non-conformities identified during inspections or testing and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Train and mentor QA technicians and production staff on quality control procedures, food safety practices, and BRCGS requirements to promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of QA activities, including inspection reports, test results, corrective actions, and compliance documentation, in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Support customer audits and inquiries related to quality assurance and food safety, providing documentation and information as needed to demonstrate compliance and product integrity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or food manufacturing, with knowledge of BRCGS standards and HACCP principles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with seafood processing and RTE (Ready-to-Eat) products is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed to support production schedules and QA activities.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
