POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the prompt and efficient performance of all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager and for continuous self-improvement of skills and expertise. A willingness to accept and follow the directions of others, as is a working knowledge of HVAC systems and various appliances, stoves, dishwashers, disposals, and refrigerators. Additional skill requirements include but are not limited to electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and pool servicing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining a professional image and attitude in keeping with the objectives of the company and the resident’s welfare.
- Troubleshoot and perform all necessary repairs to the apartment community, including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and electrical. Installation of new appliances as needed.
- Ensure resident-requested service orders are completed on a timely basis.
- Assist in maintaining the exterior of the property to provide clean and acceptable curb appeal at all times.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and health, safety, and environmental laws.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 1 - 3 years maintenance experience is required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, and maintenance.
- EPA Section 608 (Required)
- HVAC (Preferred)
- Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, painting, carpentry, and drywall.
- Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to understand instructions and communicate in basic English
- Able to be on-call for responding to after-hours emergencies.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
