Atlantic Sintered, an Employee Owned Company, is seeking hard-working Press Operators for our 240 employee manufacturing business located in Wrentham, MA. Atlantic Sintered is a leading manufacturer of powder metal parts for the vehicle, truck, electronic and industrial markets. We have one opening on our day shift and several openings on our overnight shift. The overnight shift pays a generous shift differential.
Duties and responsibilities of the Press Operator:
- Coins and sizes previously formed parts.
- Examines parts for nicks, burrs, improper filling, cracks, and specified tolerances using measuring devices. Set aside defective parts.
- Visually verifies set up and operational clearances prior to starting machine.
- Checks level of metal powder in hopper and adds powder as required.
- Places safety guards and equipment in position.
- Examines finished parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers and other measuring instruments. Sets aside defective parts.
- Empties excess powder catch boxes and trays.
- Places finished parts on trays and provides identifying information.
- Cleans presses and surrounding work area.
- If non-conforming product is being manufactured, equipment can be shut off with notification to supervisor.
- Makes simple adjustments on single level parts.
- Runs 2-3 presses consistently
- Trains new operators and other employees
- Expected to produce quality parts.
- Follow safety procedures and policies.
No experience necessary, will train the right candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.10 - $21.00 per hour
