Summary
The Site Estimator is responsible for evaluating and measuring site projects within our Site Division. This role focuses heavily on reading civil site plans and producing accurate and detailed quantity take-offs. Candidates will spend time both in the office and the field to gain hands-on knowledge of our services, scopes, and crew operations. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantity take-offs by reading and interpreting civil site plans
- Request and gather pricing from vendors for various project scopes
- Prepare and submit detailed bid packages for internal review
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Learn and utilize Takeoff Software (PLANSWIFT)
- Manage and update the Bid Board and project schedules
- Post outgoing bids and create follow-up communication
- Receive change order lists and complete necessary revisions
- Run the estimation process for all projects within the Site Division
- Deliver projects within tight deadlines and ensure high quality of deliverables
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or estimating role within construction or a related industry
- Experience in the paving industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, striping, ADA compliance, and general commercial paving regulations is a strong plus
