Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for the daily tasks related to the accounting and finance needs of the practice, directing, and coordinating the overall accounting functions of the practice to ensure good stewardship resources while improving staff and client relations, as well as providing support to the executive members. This position reports to the Comptroller.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Financial analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify ways to reduce costs and increase revenue.
· Auditing: Preparing for audits by ensuring the company follows accounting standards and regulations, and
providing auditors with documents like financial statements and transaction records.
· Reconciling accounts: Reconciling the company's accounting records and bank statements.
· Preparing and filing taxes: Preparing and filing tax returns, and keeping up with the company's tax obligations.
· Maintaining financial records: Organizing and updating financial records, and maintaining general ledgers and
accounts payable files.
· Preparing reports: Preparing and presenting financial reports to management and other stakeholders.
· Ensuring compliance: Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance, and confirming compliance
with IRS rules.
· Performing monthly bank settlements: Performing monthly bank settlements and reconciling bank statements.
· Preparing documentation for auditors: Preparing documentation for external auditors.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to produce and present detailed financial and operational reports
Education and/or Experience:
· A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or a combination of associate’s degree and three years GL accounting
experience
· Possess demonstrated knowledge and skills related to overall office functioning
· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain good working
relationships with staff, Physicians and Senior Management
· Experience with multiple accounting systems and software
· Experience in a medical practice preferred but not mandatory

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
