Job Description

The Technologist performs diagnostic testing and assists with interventional procedures according to established departmental procedures ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic testing including X-ray and interventional procedures.
• Support coronary and peripheral interventions closure device implants electrophysiology studies ablations and device implants.
• Operate diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently to obtain optimal test results.
• Manage patients during diagnostic procedures to meet quality patient care standards.
• Maintain supplies and report equipment problems to the appropriate staff member.
• Scrub in during procedures and document events on a computerized system.

Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school.

License/Certification:

• Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
• Registry or Registry-Eligible American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required ACLS within 12 months from date of hire.

Experience:

• 1-2 years interventional cardiology experience required.
• Peripheral experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.

Work Environment:

• Potential exposure to hospital environment hazards blood borne pathogens infectious disease hazardous substances radiation exposure injury.
• Considerable reaching stooping kneeling crouching.
• Extensive standing walking stairs lifting approximately 25-50 pounds frequently.
• Lifting approximately 50 to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
• Pushing pulling heavy equipment transporting patients on stretchers unassisted.
• Manual dexterity to hand off instruments maneuvering in small work areas.
