Job Description
The Technologist performs diagnostic testing and assists with interventional procedures according to established departmental procedures ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic testing including X-ray and interventional procedures.
- Support coronary and peripheral interventions closure device implants electrophysiology studies ablations and device implants.
- Operate diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently to obtain optimal test results.
- Manage patients during diagnostic procedures to meet quality patient care standards.
- Maintain supplies and report equipment problems to the appropriate staff member.
- Scrub in during procedures and document events on a computerized system.
Requirements:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school.
License/Certification:
- Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
- Registry or Registry-Eligible American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required ACLS within 12 months from date of hire.
Experience:
- 1-2 years interventional cardiology experience required.
- Peripheral experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.
Work Environment:
- Potential exposure to hospital environment hazards blood borne pathogens infectious disease hazardous substances radiation exposure injury.
- Considerable reaching stooping kneeling crouching.
- Extensive standing walking stairs lifting approximately 25-50 pounds frequently.
- Lifting approximately 50 to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
- Pushing pulling heavy equipment transporting patients on stretchers unassisted.
- Manual dexterity to hand off instruments maneuvering in small work areas.
