Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Courier Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the courier services in a safe and efficient manner. The Courier Supervisor ensures all couriers are operating AtlantiCare vehicles according to all established laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. This position performs routine inspection of courier vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
The Courier Supervisor is responsible for the scheduling of routine maintenance and repair of vehicles. This position maintains continuous communications with customers, and maintains appropriate documentation of activities as required. This position will review and revise as necessary all established routes, and coordinate these revisions with the affected courier. The Courier Supervisor will ensure that all courier routes are followed as designed, and that all items, materials, and mail are picked up and documented with signatures when required.
This position is also responsible for the education of all staff on procedures, policies, and customer service. The Supervisor provides monthly statistical reports to Leadership. This position will perform and organize STAT deliveries.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Management preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid NJ Driver's License required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in courier and/ or transportation required. Must have the ability to drive and operate non-articulated vehicles up to 21', delivery van with automatic or manual transmission and motorized as well as hand operated equipment.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Requires the ability to load and unload delivery vehicles, and requires frequent bending, lifting, and stooping.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
