POSITION SUMMARY
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for providing professional fitness service to members and clients for the Life Center, based on their training to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs.
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for providing professional fitness service to members and clients for the Life Center, based on their training to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Exercise Science or related science required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: BLS certification required within 3 months from date of hire or transfer. Effective 1/1/2021, existing incumbents with Heart Saver will be required to renew with BLS, all new hires effective this same date is required to have BLS.
ACSM Health Fitness instructor, NSCA or ACE Personal Trainer certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with a medical fitness program preferred.

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires frequent walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
