Job Description

The Insurance and Claims Management Specialist provides risk management and insurance services and support for the Legal Department, AtlantiCare’s insurance needs, and serves as the insurance resource for the organization. This position is responsible for working with the third party administrator and commercial insurers with regard to the efficient management of claims in order to maximize recovery for the organization.

This position is responsible for review and management of all applications/questionnaires related to commercial insurance coverage, captive malpractice coverage, management of fleet program, development of internal policies and procedures, and additional programs as deemed necessary for evaluation. Review of insurance contract language, reserves, and loss runs are an important aspect of the position. This position works closely with brokers, captive manager, legal counsel, and finance with regard to insurance policy language, issuance of insurance policies and COI’s, financial and regulatory issues, and premium promulgation.

This position consistently communicates with executive/senior leadership with regard to insurance marketplace developments, captive operations, claims and loss data, opportunities for insurance recovery, and fleet operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: NJ Property Casualty Insurance License and ARM preferred, CPHRM required or able to obtain within 18 months of hire. Risk Management certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Computer literate, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports directly to the Vice-President and General Counsel.
