Atlantis University is currently seeking a Career Services Representative that serves as lead in all Job location, development functions, and coaches students in their career development and job search process. This position is responsible to ensure that all students/graduates take all necessary steps that will lead up to a successful job placement opportunity. In addition, assist to develop and implement tasks and activities related to job placement to active and graduate students.
The main purpose of the position is to provide enough training for students/graduates to grow professionally, and successfully pass the interview process, which will lead up to a successful gainful employment opportunity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides career coaching and advising to students regarding employment and internships.
- Meet with students/graduates and discuss employment opportunities that fit his/her skill set and profile.
- Conduct workshops on resume writing, interview skill development, job search strategies, salary negotiation, researching companies, professional attire, application process, etc.
- Provides one on one, and group career discussion to students.
- Generate job leads for current student population and graduates of the University.
- Maintain records of graduate's employment, conduct graduate employment verifications.
- Organize job and career fairs.
- Research on current job trends, conduct market surveys, and seek and develop job opportunities through telemarketing, direct contact and networking.
- Provide overview of the Placement Office Services on Campus to new students during orientation.
- Organize activities and events to promote values in the student community.
- Follow up with all graduates on the outcome for all interviews scheduled.
- Follow up with graduate who were successfully placed and verify his/her success on the job.
- Meet with and contact companies managers to promote networking and access to job placement services.
- Perform follow up surveys to determine the success of each placed graduate.
- Follow-up with phone calls, in person and in writing surveys with employers to determine the success of graduates placed.
- Networking job events that can generate opportunities for the students.
- Bring employers to our classrooms to offer motivational speeches.
- Create weekly reports to ensure department goals.
- Participate in Job Fairs and career opportunities events.
- Develop strong relationships with academic departments for student placement in their field of study.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree, Master Degree preferred.
- 3 year of experience in advising and coaching students.
- Prior working experience in higher education preferred.
- You must also have a successful track record of placement activities in education or staffing/recruiting environment.
- High degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred.
