Seeking an independent contractor to fill the role of Behavior Consultant Level II.
As a contracted therapist, you will have full autonomy on therapeutic interventions and techniques used to work towards completing individual goals and objectives. Some training is provided on how to complete specific paperwork but to work in this role you should be an expert in the field and have experience creating Behavior Support Plans and working with individuals with disabilities. Experience in ABA is a plus!
A Behavior Consultant provides behavior support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Behavior Consultant will assess behavioral strengths/needs of individuals served and write behavior support plans to address needs and teach new skills. The Behavior Consultant is responsible to train staff/families on implementation of the plan, assess implementation of the plan, monitor ongoing individual behavioral issues, and coordinate behavioral training/needs assessments. The Behavior Consultant will meet weekly with each individual to provide direct implementation of the BSP.
Services are provided in home and community settings in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Kosciusko, and surrounding counties.
What You Need to Be Successful in This Role:
- Personal accountability and responsibility - should be able to create your own schedule and be independent within the role. In person sessions at a minimum of 1x per week.
- Maintaining a regular/consistent schedule with individuals.
- Meeting deadlines for completing monthly reports and behavior support plans.
- Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations.
- Excellent writing skills to provide accurate and detailed billing, reports, and time invoices.
- Ability to communicate and train staff on plan, objectives, and goals.
- Ability to enjoy different settings and different schedules.
- Ability to work with individuals of varying ages.
- This position requires driving so you will need a reliable vehicle.
Qualifications
To be approved to provide behavioral support services as a Level 2 clinician, an applicant shall meet the following requirements: Either: have a master’s degree in:
· Applied Behavior Analysis, Clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology; special education; social work; or counseling
OR
- Be a licensed marriage and family therapist licensed under IC 25-23
- Be a licensed clinical social worker under IC 25-23
- Be a licensed mental health counselor under IC 25-23
OR
- Have a master’s degree in a human services field and be able to demonstrate to the BDDS behavior management committee that the individual has either coursework in or five (5) years of experience in devising, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans
Prior to signing the contract, you will need to provide:
-State and County Criminal Background checks showing “no findings”.
-Copy of Master's degree/transcript.
-Copies of driver’s license, vehicle registration, and car insurance
-Negative TB test
-Adult and Pediatric 1st Aid and CPR Certification.
- Liability insurance in the amount of 1-3 million.
-Completing required training and orientation.
-Behavior Consultant must obtain (10) continuing education hours annually.
