What are the responsibilities and job description for the Division 8 (Door, Frame, Hardware) Detailer position at Atlas Companies?
Candidates for the door, frame, hardware engineer position will know how to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, addenda, and other construction documents, possess strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, and have 2 years experience with AutoCAD. This position is deadline focused and time management is key for success. This position is responsible for creating detailed, accurate door, frame, and hardware submittals based on plans, specifications, addenda, and estimating paperwork, ensuring all required codes and standards are met and project budget is intact.
In-house training will be provided to ensure the candidate quickly becomes familiar with company processes and procedures. Candidate must be detail oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have strong communication, problem solving and computer skills (including Windows, Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Google, etc.). Candidate must have a student mindset during training (willing to soak up knowledge and follow specific processes and procedures). Must be a selfstarter. ePWS, Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and BIM knowledge/experience is preferred but not required. Candidate will be required to stay current on industry-related codes and standards, manufacturers, and products through in-house training and/or industry-sponsored education and be a source of industry knowledge for colleagues.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with occasional overtime required; position requires full-time work in an office environment with nearly 100% of workdays consisting of completing submittals and schedules electronically with use of multiple monitors and updating project pricing via email for project manager review.
