Position Summary
Roll-Off Drivers safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large mobile open-top, roll-top, and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities, and customer locations. Drivers navigate high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots and may operate in tight environments, including overhead, while on route. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job. The ideal candidate will be hard-working and enthusiastic, with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass regular drug screenings, pre-employment physical, and background checks.
Work Environment and Expectations

This is a full time, hourly position

Schedule is Monday Friday starting at 5:00 a.m.

Drivers will be expected to work a Saturday about every 3 weeks

Shifts are typically 10-11 hours per day

Drivers are currently being offered a $3,000 - $5,000 sign-on bonus based on experience.

Qualifications
Qualifications
-
Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with an airbrake endorsement.

1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Ability to work independently and on a team.

Strong customer service skills
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Operates vehicle by Atlas Disposal Industries safety rules and operating procedures, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.

Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).

Follow assigned route and deliver or pick up containers replace containers properly, reports containers in need of repair, leave all locations clean and free of debris.

Operates computerized mobile tablet to track progress on route, complete stops, and enters notes and landfill information.

Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Supervisor or Dispatch.

Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required or directed by the Supervisor.

Works closely with Dispatch and Supervisor to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.

Immediately notify the Supervisor or Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

Performs all duties as scheduled by Supervisor or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
