Atlas Dog Training is a leading boarding and training company in Western MA specializing in providing top-quality training services to dogs of all breeds and ages. We are devoted to helping owners understand and communicate with their dogs effectively and are looking for a dedicated, experienced individual to join our small team of 3-4 full time trainers.
PLEASE READ:
This position is for an experienced dog trainer. It is expected that applicants be able to train a dog's obedience and fully off-leash train them before applying. Applicants are also expected to be comfortable handling and training anxious and aggressive dogs. Applicants must attend a working interview to demonstrate their proficiency in order to be considered for the position.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years professional or sport dog training experience
- Proficient with training equipment and techniques including food rewards, basic marker training, prong collars, and e-collars
- Understanding of dog body language and socialization
- Understanding of a kennel environment and basic kennel operations
- Ability to teach dogs of all breeds and ages basic obedience
- Ability to handle and train anxious and aggressive dogs
- Ability to communicate with owners about their dog and his/her training
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
Responsibilities:
- Obedience training and behavior modification for all types of pet dogs
- Update owners on training progress
- General kennel care (feed, water, administer medication, etc.)
Compensation:
- $40,000 - $50,000 starting salary with opportunities to grow. Starting salary varies based upon skill and experience
