This role will be based onsite at our Headquarters in Austin, TX.
How You Will Make an Impact
As an Automation Intern, you will be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-energy manufacturing environment at our headquarters in Austin, Texas. We’re looking for a sharp, fast learner with a strong interest in Process Automation, Process Engineering, and scripting/programming. This role offers a hands-on experience working both in a manufacturing environment (including outdoor settings) and in an office.
We are flexible with school schedules and can offer full-time summer employment if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Process Automation team with daily tasks
- Develop new operator interface screens, engineering tools, and data management tools for accounting and logistics
- Support the development of new PLC code for plant operations
- Help build a project library of equipment templates
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in an Engineering field
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
- Proficiency in Windows, Office, and related software
- Experience with Java and/or Python scripting
- Basic understanding of SQL databases
- Experience with PLC programming (ladder logic or structured text) is a plus
- Willingness to learn and support various automation software packages
- Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and take on new tasks as needed
