How You Will Make an Impact:
The Mechanical Fabrication Technician is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and integration of mechanical components for advanced power systems. This includes cutting, welding, machining, and assembling metal structures, enclosures, and frames to meet engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, form, weld, and assemble sheet metal, tubing, and structural components for power system enclosures and frames.
- Assemble mechanical components, including mounting brackets, fasteners, and structural reinforcements, per engineering drawings.
- Operate manual and CNC machines, including saws, drills, and presses, to produce custom components.
- Perform MIG/TIG welding and grinding to meet high-strength and aesthetic standards.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and CAD designs to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain fabrication tools, welding machines, and other shop equipment in good working order.
- Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.
- Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
- Use the correct tools and use them safely.
- Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding, machining, or fabrication preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing roles.
- Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication blueprints.
- Experience with power tools, grinders, shears, presses, and CNC/manual machining equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial setting.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to work legally in the US.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Clean motor vehicle record.
How You Will Stand Out:
- Experience in fabricating industrial or military-grade power system enclosures.
- Familiarity with powder-coated finishes and corrosion-resistant materials.
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems, inverters, and energy storage is a plus.
