Position Overview:
Atlas Foundation Company is seeking a motivated intern or assistant project manager to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position combines the critical responsibilities of identifying potential work, accurately doing takeoffs for the estimating team, and working side by side with the estimators and project managers to assist with daily duties of the team. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, ability to identify scopes of work on construction blue prints, and assist with accurate takeoffs for estimation, with the understanding that growth within the company would lead into a full time estimating and project management role. The communication function is key to ensure that the quality and timeliness of work is satisfactory, ensuring Atlas Foundation Company is the customer’s first thought when it comes to earthwork and deep foundation needs.
Essential Duties:
· Identify potential work via bid board searching and working through daily RFQ’s from current customers.
· Accurately perform takeoffs via construction blueprints, and supplier reach out for accurate quotes to be used if the estimates.
· Assist in the management and coordination of day-to-day operations on earthwork and deep foundation projects.
· Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities under the supervision of senior project managers.
· Help track project progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
· Participate in site visits to ensure work is being completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
· Assist in preparing project documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal teams and clients.
· Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
· Monitor and report on project expenditures, helping to keep projects within budget.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations on job sites.
· Assist in managing and updating project schedules and timelines using project management software.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
· Interest in the construction industry, specifically earthwork, deep foundations, or civil infrastructure.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Familiarity with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) is a plus.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
· Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn on the job.
