Heavy Equipment Operator

Atlas Organics is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Vero Beach, FL! The Loader/Operator will safely operate heavy equipment, such as loaders, grinders, shredders and screens to manufacture compost and other soil amendments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely and effectively operate various forms of heavy equipment to move product and feed shredders, grinders and screens.
• Upload Daily Production Reports
• Safely load product onto roll off containers or walking floor trailers.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Observe and comply with all applicable safety regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
• Maintain collaborative working relationship with drivers, operators and coworkers.
• Participate in external, Department and Company-wide trainings to increase skill sets and improve service.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

• One (1) year of related experience using heavy equipment required.
• Experience in the compost industry a plus
• Certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work Wednesday-Saturday, 7am-5pm; overtime as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Outdoor work environment
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
