What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Metal Grinder position at Atlas Precision Metal Fabricators, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain grinding machines to grind metal workpieces to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job orders to determine grinding requirements
- Set up and adjust grinding machines for proper operation
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
- Remove excess material or burrs from workpieces using hand tools or powered equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience operating grinding machines or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job orders
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
Additional Skills:
- Forklift operation experience is a plus
