What You’ll Do

  • Embody mission and vision of school
  • Execute rigorous and standards-aligned curriculum
  • Create, edit, revise, and share lesson plans for the school to retain as needed
  • Plan for and deliver academic supports to small groups or individual scholars as needed/scheduled
  • Deliver daily, weekly, interim, and end-of-year assessments to consistently capture student learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues and instructional coaches with sincerity and a growth mindset
  • Support colleagues during their absences by providing classroom coverage (compensated additionally)
  • Actively participate in professional development and learning opportunities as needed/required
  • Draft scholar report cards to ensure meaningful information is displayed for families and revise as needed
  • Actively engage with families to understand their backgrounds and experiences in order to support an equitable and inclusive school environment
  • Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Be present for all quarterly parent/teacher conferences and actively engage with families
  • Support the summer REACH beyond program
  • Participate in additional activities including field trips, academic support sessions, community building events, and other required programs as needed throughout the year to best serve our children and community
  • Support various duties to include arrival, dismissal, and lunch
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Teach, support, and enhance school-wide systems and expectations at all times with all children
  • Provide engaging, motivating, and rigorous instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental level and interest of the students

 

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Annual Range $50,500 - $63,549 (DOE)
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date:

  • 212 working days 
    • Please note this includes 3 days of orientation for new staff. Following years will consist of only 209 work days.

Qualifications


Who You Are

  •  Able to meet “in-field status” for the position with at least one of the following within 90 days of hire:
    • A valid CDE teaching license with endorsement in Science (Grades 6-12), or
    • Bachelor's Degree in General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Geology, or
    • Degree or completed/passed 24 credits from a regionally accredited college/university that meet the minimum requirement per the Science (Grades 6-12) CDE worksheet, or
    • A passing score on the PRAXIS #5436 or the PRAXIS #5435 (if taken before 08.31.2023)
  • Ability to successfully pass all required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7

Essential Job Functions

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting
  • Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
  • Must be able to successfully abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas Preparatory School
