Atlas Roof Shingles & Underlayments is seeking a Director of Supply Chain for the Atlanta, Georgia facility.
Supply Chain Director Primary Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers of strategic raw materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Develop and manage yearly forecasts for strategic raw materials to align with production and business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate demand planning.
- Negotiate favorable contracts for raw materials, manufacturing equipment, and services.
- Manage contract renewals and ensure alignment with company goals and market conditions.
- Design and Implementation of new Warehouse Management system.
- Oversee outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
- Optimize the Transportation Management System (TMS) for improved efficiency.
- Facilitate the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and Integrated Manufacturing Planning (IMP) meetings.
- Align supply chain operations with sales and production goals.
- Review and enhance purchasing processes across all manufacturing plants to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Analyze the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) process and implement improvements for cost savings and streamlined operations.
- Drive performance and accountability, ensuring effective communication with executive leadership on challenges and solutions for the division.
- Partner with other departments, including Production, Sales, and Finance, to support organizational goals.
- Work closely with R&D and Quality teams to ensure new or existing raw material performance.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on supply chain performance and initiatives.
- 25-35% travel expected for vendor visits, conferences, and plant visits.
Supply Chain Director Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within manufacturing.
- Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and logistics.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing S&OP processes, procurement best practices, and MRO selection processes.
Supply Chain Director Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Warehouse Management systems (WMS).
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Leader of change, with ability to influence and gain support from supply chain functional managers to plant management. This position will need to coordinate with plant managers, R&D, and finance to ensure alignment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Supply Chain Director Education, Licenses & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Professional of Supply Management (CPSM)
