Divisional Procurement Manager Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Manager to join our dynamic procurement team. This individual will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the company's purchasing processes, ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and services, and maintaining high standards of quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, allowing them to assess market trends, supplier performance, and procurement data to make informed purchasing decisions and contribute to the company’s overall operational efficiency.
Divisional Procurement Manager Key & Primary Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Analysis :
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans by analyzing historical purchasing data, market trends, and supplier performance. Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate supplier competitiveness to ensure the best value for the company.
Data-Driven Decision Making :
Utilize advanced analytics tools (e.g., Excel, ERP software, or procurement platforms) to analyze purchasing patterns, demand forecasts, inventory levels, and budget constraints. Present data insights to senior management to influence purchasing strategies and budget allocation.Supplier Management & Negotiations :
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Conduct in-depth market analysis to assess potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms while ensuring product quality and delivery timelines.Cost Optimization & Budgeting :
Monitor spending trends, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs. Work closely with finance and department heads to track and stay within budgetary guidelines.Inventory Management & Forecasting :
Collaborate with inventory management and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels, reducing overstock or stockouts. Forecast demand and adjust purchasing schedules to meet changing business needs.Process Improvement :
Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes and workflows using data-driven insights. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and streamline vendor selection and onboarding.Risk Management :
Analyze potential risks in the supply chain (e.g., supplier reliability, geopolitical factors, commodity pricing) and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions and ensure continuity.Reporting & Compliance :
Prepare detailed reports on purchasing activities, including savings, supplier performance, and inventory status. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.Divisional Procurement Manager Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CPSM) are a plus.Divisional Procurement Manager Required Skills & Qualifications
Seeking a minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain managementStrong ability to interpret and analyze large datasets. Proficiency in using data analytics tools, ERP systems, and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) to draw actionable insights.Excellent attention to detail in evaluating supplier proposals, contracts, and inventory levels.Demonstrated ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and vendors, securing cost-effective and quality solutions.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and findings clearly to senior management and stakeholders.Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly, especially under pressure.Divisional Procurement Manager Preferred Skills
