Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership. This position is ideal for a proactive, analytical professional with a deep understanding of accounting principles and experience in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business decision-making.
- Manage audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information.
- Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in the financial services industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
