A leading global alternative asset management firm specializing in multi-strategy, credit and real estate is looking to hire a Fund Controller due to growth. The Closed End Controller will help lead a team of 9 accountants and will be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting and operations of various Private Equity and Real Estate Funds that the firm manages.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct and oversee aspects of the accounting, finance and treasury functions for the
Real Estate Funds and Private Equity Funds, including:
o Oversee and coordinate with external fund administrator on all reporting requirements
o Review capital call and distribution calculations and notices
o Review incentive allocation and waterfall analysis
o Review GAAP financial statements
o Responsible for various regulatory reporting requirements
o Manage and review fund and investment level performance reporting
o Responsible for treasury, cash management and operational controls for cash
management and associated bank reconciliations.
o Monitor exposure to credit lines and responsible for various reporting requirements for
associated debt covenants
o Ensure compliance with expense allocation policies and procedures
o Implement initiatives to improve and streamline finance and accounting functions
• Contribute to the formulation of a strategic plan to scale the operations and accounting
through administration, technology, and process
• Work with senior leaders across the firm Infrastructure (Investment Professionals,
Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, Operations, Technology) in support of the Real
Estate funds and Private Equity Funds
• Responsible for timely reporting of results in connection with internal FP&A and public
company reporting requirements
• Support the finance and accounting aspects of acquisitions and dispositions, including pre-deal diligence with the asset managers, legal and tax departments
Qualifications
• 12 years of experience across private equity or real estate accounting
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or other post-graduate degree
• CPA designation is preferred
• Demonstrated management experience
• Public and private experience preferred (private equity, hedge fund or administrator)
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Word or equivalents
• Proven track record of scaling operations and enhancing controls
• Eagerness to effectuate change
Salary : $200,000 - $225,000
