Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor to provide community-based mental health services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, person-centered care that promotes recovery, stability, and independence. The ideal candidate must hold a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in addition to a social work license.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Provide direct therapeutic services, including individual and group counseling, to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, housing, employment, and social services.
- Provide crisis intervention and on-call support as needed.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health and substance use treatment options.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training to enhance professional development.
- Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field required.
- LPC or LCSW certification in NJ required.
- Prior experience providing treatment services to adults, children, and / or adolescents.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, field-based setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
