Tax Director (Family Office/Partnership)

The firm is less than 3 years old and currently sitting around the $20B AUM range - as the business continues to witness rapid growth, the firm is looking to hire an essential Tax Director to sit in their NYC office.

This is a new role due to growth that will be responsible for a wide range of functions including managing both compliance as well as research related to its Private Equity funds. The tax compliance is outsourced, so this role will be managing that relationship/reviewing their work, involved in tax policy, provide tax advice for new fund strategies, and be involved in special projects throughout the year.

The role also requires strong presentation and communication skills, as it involves high exposure to the executive team and will be a key business partner to grow as the business expands.

They are seeking the best candidates with a strong partnership tax background that have experience in-house at a Family Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee Tax for all of the Principal's investments

• Manage the tax compliance that is outsourced to the Big 4

• Assist external Tax Lawyers with the structuring and advising on new Private Equity deals

• Handling all tax notices and sending investors K-1s

• Advising on the best way to structure Private Equity fund and dealing with foreign investors

Qualifications:

• 10 years of partnership (Form 1065) tax compliance experience from a public accounting firm or out of the private sector in a similar industry/Family Office.
• Understand tax implication from an individual (Form 1040) income tax return perspective
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
