What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Director - Private Equity position at Atlas Search?
My client is a Fast growing Private Equity fund currently sitting around 20B AUM. They put together an all-star cast of top executives in the alternatives space for a best-in-class fund.
As the business continues to witness rapid growth, the firm is looking to hire an essential Tax Director to sit in their NYC office.
This is a new role due to growth that will be responsible for a wide range of functions including managing both compliance as well as research related to Private Equity and Credit Funds. The tax compliance is outsourced, so this role will be managing that relationship/reviewing their work, involved in tax policy, provide tax advice for new fund strategies and be involved in special projects throughout the year.
Tax Compliance
- Real time analysis and review of fund activity for various tax impacts
- Preparation, filing and payment of quarterly tax estimates, reporting disclosures and returns
- Annual compliance review of 3rd party prepared tax returns and partnership allocations
- Monitoring and preparation of various domestic and foreign tax and non-income tax reporting obligations
- Coordination of various third party advisors including tax, legal and accounting
- Collect, validate and maintain Investor data
- Research and respond to government notices as well as various LP and GP requests
- Manage and assist in development of internal tax tools utilized to streamline compliance process
Formation, Structuring & Analysis
- Participate in strategy sessions to highlight tax impacts on various structuring discussions with respect to Funds, GPs & Management Company structuring
- Assist in the entity formation and dissolution process
- Provide tax planning advice for Individual GPs and Management Company owners
- Develop and enhance various LP & GP reporting disclosures
- Maintain awareness of the current tax environment though research of the latest tax proposals, policies and industry viewpoints
- Assist in various projects as the business grows
Requirements:
- 8-18 years experience in Partnership Tax. Straight Big 4 Fund Tax or combo from PE Fund.
- Private Equity required.
- CPA required
- Hybrid 4 days in NYC
Salary : $190,000 - $250,000
