As a Permitting Specialist, some of the job duties performed will include:
- Responsible for the procurement of all permits in compliance with all government regulations.
- Experience filling out applications, knowledge of municipalities and their requirements concerning permits, scheduling of inspections, and working through online portals.
- Utilize working knowledge of time management processes and the capability to identify complex problems, evaluate and execute solutions
- Coordinate the resolution of permit-related issues to project managers
- Provide guidance, and feedback to project management, designers and advise of any permit drawing changes requested
- Ensure timely receipt of permit approval by permit entities.
- Utilize available reports and systems to track progress and manage workflow.
- Top three skills: 1) Navigating city websites 2) Familiarity with the requirements of building departments 3) Scheduling appointments
Qualifications, requirements and education required for the Permitting Specialist position include:
- Candidate is needed at location
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience and be familiar with surveys, code checks, and scheduling, while providing the highest level of customer service.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant project software.
- Ability to interact and persuade governmental personnel to accomplish task.
