JOB DESCRIPTION

• As a Router Tech with our growing Manufacturing Team, some of the job duties performed will include:
• Recieves job files from supervisor and programs the computer to operate the router table.
• Loads the table with the appropriate materials for the job: plastic, polycarbonate plastic, aluminum, PVC board, or wood.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration. Adjust machines to compensate for problems.
• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.
• Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
• Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
• Calculate machine speed and feed ratios, as well as the size and position of cuts.
• Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
• Programs the job with the control panel and then activates the router table.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications, requirements, and education required for the Router Tech position include:

• Hours: Day Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
• Evening Shift: 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm M-Th, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm F
• Proficiency in router programming and control panel operations
• Great attention to detail
• Be able to be on your feet for most of the workday and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds
• Forklift certified or able to be certified
• Ability to cross-train within departments
• Works well in a team environment
• Good attendance required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
