JOB DESCRIPTION
- As a Router Tech with our growing Manufacturing Team, some of the job duties performed will include:
- Recieves job files from supervisor and programs the computer to operate the router table.
- Loads the table with the appropriate materials for the job: plastic, polycarbonate plastic, aluminum, PVC board, or wood.
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration. Adjust machines to compensate for problems.
- Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
- Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.
- Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
- Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
- Calculate machine speed and feed ratios, as well as the size and position of cuts.
- Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
- Programs the job with the control panel and then activates the router table.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications, requirements, and education required for the Router Tech position include:
- Hours: Day Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Evening Shift: 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm M-Th, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm F
- Proficiency in router programming and control panel operations
- Great attention to detail
- Be able to be on your feet for most of the workday and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds
- Forklift certified or able to be certified
- Ability to cross-train within departments
- Works well in a team environment
- Good attendance required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
