What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Atlas Staffing?
Atlas Staffing is seeking a Buyer to work at a semi-conductor manufacturing company in Boise, ID. The Buyer will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders have been filled and invoices from vendors have been issued, answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. Working with supply chain team to identify and implement cost saving initiatives to support working capital.
Job Functions:
- Negotiates pricing, delivery, and terms with vendors for assigned goods and services.
- Purchase order management including PO placement, tracking, expediting, and amending PO’s as necessary.
- Coordinate sourcing and order activity with internal requisitioners and ensures supply of assigned goods and/or services.
- Coordinate with the supplier, requestor, finance, stores, shipping and receiving and corporate, as necessary to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
- Manages supply contracts with preferred vendors for various goods and services; ensures internal compliance to source from preferred vendors.
- Assists internal customers in defining requirements, identifying alternate sources and assessing the financial health of suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business required or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in all MS Office applications, inventory/manufacturing software such as MRP and/or Epicor experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications is helpful, but not required.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 PM
